Marc stars in Off-Broadway Musical “A Mermaids’ Tale”

The new musical “A Mermaids’ Tale” has moved to the Off-Broadway stage of The Triad Theater in Manhattan, starting September 15th, after successful runs in Brooklyn and Queens, NY. Marc stars again as Cap’n Bill.

The Friends Always Creating Theatre presentation appeals to children and adults alike and is adapted from the L. Frank Baum novel, “The Sea Fairies” penned the year following his success with “The Wizard of Oz”. An original cast recording CD is also available.

New short film “Mime Flyer” stars Marc — as a mime!

Coming soon to Eggwork.TV – Mime Flyer. A new comedy short film by Eggwork Productions. This short was created for Project 5, a new series of underground film at The Little, Rochester, New York’s premiere independent and foreign theater.

The film was shot in Time Square NYC by Wei Pun and stars Marc Raco. You can see the short playing before every screening of Moonrise Kingdom & Take This Waltz at The Little this week & next week during the Project 5 screenings (August 24 – 30, 2012). Marc Cast in Short SAG Film “Joy”

Marc will play a suburban father named Ted in the short comedic film “Joy,” to be shot in New York City in July. He was tapped for the role by director Elena Araoz, international director known for working with such notable organizations as New York City Opera and Prague Shakespear festival. The film’s screenplay is based on a short story by Anton Chekhov, which has been adapted into one in which a teenage girl who finds that she was videotaped, with the tape arriving on YouTube.

Marc joins Human Rights Theater Project

Marc will play a role in one of the Women of Color “Human Rights Theater Project” plays “Mary Theresa,” opening June 22nd in New York. Details and showtimes can be found at http://www.womenofcolorpro.citymax.com.

The Women of Color Human Rights Theatre Project will present outstanding performances of five new one-act plays that deal with human rights issues from the perspective of characters who are women of color. The three playwrights in Women of Color 2011 Playwright Development Program , Kristine M. Reyes, Jorshinelle Taleon-Sonza and Jacqueline Wade, began researching and writing their plays in April 2011 under the guidance of dramaturg Maxine Kern.

From the Philippines to Rwanda, Nazi Germany to New York City, these plays span time and place in order to shed light on the many injustices suffered by women of color throughout the world’s history. While each story is unique, there is a common thread that proves the strength and resiliency of these women characters, even in the face of tremendous hardship.

Producer and star Andrew Roth has tapped Marc to jump into an important scene in the film, shooting this month. Andrew and Marc previously appeared in Jeff Roberts’ feature film “Aversion” together.

Marc to play Cop in “Famika vs The Tea Party”

Marc has been offered the part of an Arizona Police Officer in the upcoming feature film “Famika vs The Tea Party” written and produced by Maija DiGiorgio and Heather McConnell. A popular comedian, DiGorgio is known for her “high-voltage stage act and was recognized by the Daily News and the New York Post warning audiences, ‘to catch Maija before television audiences do’ “

Marc reprises role in reading of new musical “Hip Hop High” May 2nd

Marc will reprise the role of Detective Walker, which he originated, in a reading of the rebooted musical “Hip Hop High” at a special added event May 2nd.

The reading which will include the songs will feature a largely new cast and will take place Wednesday May 2nd at 7:30PM at Ripley Grier Studios 939 8th Avenue, New York City (Room 2B)

May 12th – Marc returns to stage in musical based on L. Frank Baum story

Marc will return to the stage May 12th and June 9th in the starring role of “Cap’n Bill” in the new musical “The Mermaids’ Tale” at . The show, which world-premiered this year to a rave review on TheaterMania.com, started an open-ended run today with dual casts in a new venue, the notable Secret Theatre in Brooklyn and the audience was on their feet. The FACT Theatre originated production is directed by Jack Dyville with musical direction by Heather Edwards.

“Leftover Chicken” selected

Marc’s short comedic play “Leftover Chicken,” as much about the mini-breakdown of a local news anchor in the dressing room 10 minutes before air time as it is a commentary on the sad state of lazy news cycles, has been selected as one of six short plays being presented in the April play reading series “Words and Wine.”

The series, produced by FACT Theater, will be performed Sunday, April 15th 3:30pm ART/NY Bruce Mitchell Room 520 8th Avenue, 3rd Floor, New York City. Marc will also be acting as a reader for two of the other plays.

Marc wraps filming for “Monsters” pilot

After eight months of on-and-off shooting, Marc and co-star Daniel Wolfe Piotrowski wrapped their time on set and location in the lead roles of Dash and Dick for the three pilot episodes of Mediathreat’s “Monsters.” Post- production is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2012.
